"Somewhere in the vaults of the bank of Cox and Co., at Charing Cross, there is a travel-worn and battered tin dispatch-box with my name, John H. Watson, M.D., painted upon the lid. It is crammed with papers, nearly all of which are records of cases to illustrate the curious problems which Mr. Sherlock Holmes has at various times to examine."

The Veiled Detective (2004)

Sherlockian and Jeremy Brett biographer David Stuart Davies offers a deconstructive Holmes pastiche.

It is 1880 and a young Sherlock Holmes arrives in London to pursue a career as a private detective. He soon attracts the attention of the criminal mastermind, Professor James Moriarty, who decides that he must control this fledgling genius. What happens next is both shocking and thrilling. The Veiled Detective takes a fresh, exciting and controversial look at the relationship between the great detective Sherlock Holmes, his friend and chronicler, Doctor John H. Watson and Professor Moriarty. The novel deconstructs the myth of Sherlock Holmes and reveals a fascinating and excitingly dramatic alternative view of the man. The novel will amaze and thrill readers of crime fiction as the truth is finally revealed about the world's most famous detective.

Sherlock Holmes at the 1902 Fifth Test (1986)

Sherlock Holmes at the 1902 Fifth Test by Stanley Shaw was first published in hardcover by W.H. Allen in 1985. This is the 1986 paperback will illustrations by John Lawrence. I don't believe the book was ever published in America.

It was Wednesday, 13 August 1902 and one of English cricket's most glorious days when the Oval Test Match was snatched from the jaws of defeat against the Australians.
But what role does the greta Detective Sherlock Holmes have to play in the sporting triumph? And to add further intrigue, how did an unknown young Australian render a service to English cricket that has remained an international secret to this day?
The answer is elementary...

House of the Doomed (2018)

A ghostly Holmes pastiche by Sherlockian blogger Dan Andriacco.

Dan Andriacco is well established as a formidable detective story writer and, no great surprise, as a formidable Sherlockian. It was only a matter of time before he turned his hand to a full-length and full-blooded exploit of the sage of Baker Street - and what a cracker it is!
Shortly after the Queen's death brings an end to the Victorian era, Sherlock Holmes is invited to investigate an apparent vendetta against a young woman in Surrey. He and Dr. Watson have often visited the county, but the scene of the attacks is an area even more familiar to a certain Arthur Conan Doyle, who in 1897 had moved his family from London to a small town near Haslemere, in an area already popular among writers and artists. Rumours of ghosts and occult rituals add an extra frisson to the atmosphere of mystery and suspense as the screw gradually, remorselessly tightens. And as a nice bonus we meet an old friend, the one police detective who is undeniably on the same level as Holmes himself. Capital!
